Combolands Ranks: All 10 and Clear Rates
Combolands has 10 difficulty ranks. Each one has its own Steam achievement, so the share of owners holding that achievement is a clean public read on how far the player base actually gets. Percentages pulled from Steam's global achievement stats on 2026-08-30.
| # | Rank | Owners who cleared it | Change from previous rank | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Villager | 53.9% | — | The entry rank and the only one a clear majority of owners has beaten. |
| 2 | Yeoman | 40.5% | -13.4 pp | The largest single drop on the ladder. More players stop here than at any other step. |
| 3 | Citizen | 31.5% | -9.0 pp | Second-largest drop. Past this point roughly a third of owners are still climbing. |
| 4 | Envoy | 24.3% | -7.2 pp | Sits just above the Maritime guild's unlock rate — the mid-game plateau. |
| 5 | Consul | 19.6% | -4.7 pp | Halfway rank. One in five owners has cleared it. |
| 6 | Ambassador | 16.2% | -3.4 pp | Pre-launch note: the developers fixed a text layout error on rank 6 in the 2026-08-23 patch. |
| 7 | Governor | 12.3% | -3.9 pp | Under an eighth of owners. |
| 8 | Chancellor | 9.1% | -3.2 pp | Under a tenth. |
| 9 | Viceroy | 7.1% | -2.0 pp | The last step before the top rank. |
| 10 | Regent | 5.4% | -1.7 pp | Top rank. Winning on Regent with all 21 guild combinations is the game's rarest achievement at 0.2%. |
Where players actually stop
The steepest fall on the whole ladder is the very first step: 13.4 percentage points between Villager and Yeoman. Nothing later comes close — the second-largest gap is 9.0 points, and from Consul onwards each rank sheds only two to four points. That shape says the difficulty curve is front-loaded: the wall is learning how triggers and multipliers chain at all, not the specific numbers on Regent.
If you are stuck on that first wall, the two mechanics people report as the missing piece are on the scoring and triggers page: buildings whose text says they act "when triggered" need something else to fire them, and beating the game above the easiest ranks generally means building combos that do not rely on auto-triggers.
Ranks and guild unlocks are different ladders
Rank achievements measure difficulty; guild achievements measure which guilds you have met. Both come from the same Steam stats page, which is why the two lists look interleaved when you sort them by rarity on the achievements page.
After Regent: endless
Regent is the top rank, but not the end of the numbers. Endless mode replaces the named milestones with Megalopolis I, II, III and upward, and players have taken it far enough to break it — see endless mode.
